Chiefly letters to Pratt from business associates, friends, and family members on various subjects including preparations for the War of 1812, the calling up of troops, embargo, and friends lost; politics; estimates, specifications, renovations, and other information about various residences and buildings in Boston, Roxbury, Northampton, and other locations, on which Pratt and Elijah Hayden, his partner, worked; financial affairs; glass made in England and Massachusetts; properties owned by Pratt; marble for fireplaces; and the death of Pratt's wife and other matters. Also includes invitation (ca. 1825), to a party, addressed to Pratt and Hayden, signed by Eleanor Day, Betsey Bond, and Lucinda Clarke (possibly Hayden's wife).
